Western BCA Annual Meeting At 12 noon, Sunday May 2, 2010 League Operators and Player Representatives gathered at the Cadillac Island Casino in Longview, Washington for Western BCA's Annual Meeting. This is the one meeting of the year that non-members may attend and participate although they may not vote and several were present. This meeting recaps the league year ending May 31 and outlines the goals of the upcoming year beginning on June 1. Fees were set (they will stay at $10 per player), committee, BOD, president's and treasurer's reports were given and, most importantly, elections were held. This year saw the election of a new president and vice-president. Darcy Williams will take over the helm as of June 1 as president and Bret Baker will assume the duties of the vice-president. Julie Fraser, interim secretary, was elected to complete that term. Five members-at-large were elected: Askar Amed, Darryl Farley, Bill Henderson, Robbin Iredale and Ed Slade. Four members of our 7 member Board of Directors were elected: Andrea Saenz-Maes, Bill Henderson, Danny Burdick and Mike Jensen. And another Western BCA year begins. |

The 1st ever Grand Master Challenge exceeded all expectations. The 8 players participating did not disappoint. This event in its entirety, as well as several event finals, were live streamed and drew more viewers than could have been hoped for. Look for live streaming at future events. Next on the Western BCA agenda is its Annual Meeting. This is the most important meeting of the year and all members are urged to attend. It will be held at the Cadillac Island Casino in Longview, Washington on Sunday, May 2, 2010 starting at 12 Noon. Of course, it goes without saying that planning is already underway for the next regional tournament, the 9-Ball Championships, in October, 2010. If you were unable to get to the 8-Ball Championships, make sure you join a league and get your weeks in so you can come to the 9-Ball Championships. If pool is your game, it's where you want to be come October. See ya' at the beach! |
