Information is current as of November 14, 2011 and is updated following every regional tournament and periodically as needed. If you have questions about how players are ranked, contact your League Operator or the Chairman of the Competition Committee at players@westernbca.org. Please note that if your name is not on one of the lists published below, it is assumed you are an Open-B (man) or Open (woman) player.
Restricted Team Players are those players who, in team events at a regional tournament, finished high enough that they are not allowed to play together as a team for the next two years. The "Top Finishing Teams Rule" is as follows:
Top Finishing Teams shall be defined as those Teams placing:
- 1st and 2nd in the Mens/Mixed Master Team Division (8-Ball)
- 1st and 2nd in the Womens Master Team Division (8-Ball)
- 1st through 4th in the Mens/Mixed Open Team Division (8-Ball)
- 1st and 2nd in the Womens Open Team Division (8-Ball)
- 1st through 4th in the Mens/Mixed Team Division (9-Ball)
- 1st and 2nd in the Womens Team Division (9-Ball)
For the next two years:
- These teams cannot play together in the division they placed in.
- Any two players from any of these Top Placing Teams can play together and form a new team with any other players EXCEPT any other members of the top placing teams in their division.
- Open Teams can stay together but they must play in the Master Division.
For example: Team X placed 1st in the Mens/Mixed Master Team Division with Players A, B, C, D and E. Team Y placed 2nd with Players F, G, H, I and J. For the next two years any two players from either Team X or Team Y can pair up and form a new team with any other eligible players EXCEPT any of the other players on Team X or Y. |
If you feel that you are incorrectly ranked and would like to request that your ranking be reviewed, your LEAGUE OPERATOR may use the Ratings Change Request form. PLAYERS: PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT the Competition Committee yourself for a ratings review. The Ratings Change Request must be submitted by your League Operator. Any direct contact with the Competition Committee by other than the League Opertor will be returned and your rating will not be reviewed/changed.
Criteria for Submitting a Ratings Change Request: Your League Operator may request your rating be re-evaluated if you have:
- Played in at least one tournament in each of two consecutive years at your current rating and placed in the lower 50% of the field.
- Feel that your circumstances have changed such that you can no longer compete in your current division.
- Please note that submission does not guarantee approval. If you meet the criteria to submit a request and your league operator does so, it only guarantees that your request will be considered.
Players will/may be moved up divisionally based on the following:
- The top four percent of the Men's Open-A and Women's Open players are moved to the Master division after each regional event.
- At least the top four percent of the Men's Open-B players are moved to the Men's Open-A division depending on the number of entries in the Open-B divison. A higher percentage could be moved to the Open-A from Open-B if the Open-B division has considerably more entrants than the Open-A divison.
- The Mens and Womens Senior Singles champions at each regional event will be moved to the Mens Open-A and Womens Open divisions respectively for a period of one year. After playing one year they can again play in the Senior division unless they finished sufficiently high so as to be moved up into their respective Master divisions. Master players cannot play in the Senior Single divisions.
- All changes for players will take place immediately after the end of each Regional event.
- Players may be moved up from a division at anytime by the Competition Committee depending on the players ability.
